ATV’s in the City?
The City of Republic will determine if Off Highway Vehicles and All Terrain Vehicles will be allowed to drive within city limits. The proposed ordinance will not be up for citizen vote.
The city council will hold public hearings, dates to be announced.
DRAFT ORDINANCE:
- Allows OHV’s to operate on designated city streets and right-of-ways.
- No minimum age requirement (16 and under must be accompanied by a person 18 or older)
- No drivers license required
- Once passed the City can designate more streets.
PROPOSED ROUTE:
- From city limits, cross Granite Creek, east on Sampson Ln to Beaver Trap junction. Enter 9 th street at Ambulance garage.
- Up 9 th to end at Clark , access Prospector’s Inn parking lot.
- From 9 th west through alley to Keen (behind old school.)
- From 8 th street to cross Highway 20 to alley behind the Northern Inn .
- From Keen to Anderson ’s parking lot to alley behind businesses on Clark .
- Cross Highway 21 to alley along the City Park .
- Cross Delaware to parking next to DSHS.
Proponents also plan on extending the route from Beaver Trap under the Highway, through the Chevron parking lot to the Golden Tiger Pathway and are considering a route from the Golden Tiger north through the Leo Gaffney neighborhood.
